Welcome to Neighborhood Freebies. By using this app you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1) About the Service

Neighborhood Freebies is a community platform that lets neighbors post, discover, and claim free items within approximately 1,000 feet of their registered home address. The app is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time without notice.

2) Eligibility

This App is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. Individuals under 18 are not permitted to use the App so minors do not interact with adult neighbors without a parent or legal guardian’s permission and supervision.

3) Free Items Only

Neighborhood Freebies is strictly a no-cost exchange platform. You may not:

Post items that require payment, trade, or any form of compensation.
Request payment from another user in exchange for a posted item.
Use the app for commercial sales or advertising purposes.

Posts that violate this rule may be removed without notice.

4) Accurate Listings

You agree to provide honest, accurate descriptions of items you post. Do not misrepresent an item's condition, contents, or any other material characteristic. Misleading listings may result in account suspension.

5) Items Provided "As Is"

All items exchanged through Neighborhood Freebies are provided as-is with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not responsible for the condition, safety, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any item posted or claimed through the app. You accept all items at your own risk.

6) User Conduct

You agree not to:

Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
Post items that are illegal to transfer (e.g., controlled substances, firearms without proper process, stolen goods).
Impersonate another person or provide a false address to manipulate geographic proximity.
Use automated tools or bots to interact with the app.
Attempt to circumvent any security or access controls.

7) Zero Tolerance Policy for Objectionable Content and Abuse

Neighborhood Freebies has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.

No objectionable content is allowed, including illegal, exploitative, or sexually explicit material.
No harassment, abuse, hate speech, sexual exploitation, bullying, scamming, post spamming, or violent threats are allowed.
Content or accounts that violate this policy may be removed immediately without prior notice.
Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination.
We act on valid user reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, including content removal and account action when warranted.

8) No Liability for Transactions

Neighborhood Freebies facilitates introductions between neighbors — it does not participate in, guarantee, or supervise any exchange. We are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, or dispute that arises from an item pickup or any in-person interaction between users. Use common sense and take appropriate precautions when meeting strangers.

9) Privacy

Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the app you agree to the collection and use of data as described there. As part of our privacy model, the app displays your first name and last initial when you communicate with nearby neighbors.

10) Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently remove any account that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion, without prior notice. You may request account deletion at any time via the account deletion page.

11) Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of photos and descriptions you post. By posting content you grant Neighborhood Freebies a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display that content within the app for the purpose of operating the service. We do not sell your content to third parties.

12) Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or harmful components.

13) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Neighborhood Freebies and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app or any item obtained through it.

14) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
